Orville Marion Scott was born November 21, 1859 at Lanark, Illinois, where he spent the early part of his life, going from there to Maquoketa, where his musical ability won him a prominent place in the Maquoketa band. Learning of his ability, those in charge of the Illinois Refrigerator Factory band, as the Libby band was called at that time, persuaded Mr. Scott to go to Morrison and played with the boys for a number of years. On New Year's Day, 1898, he was married to Miss Pearl Topping of Morrison, she with five children surviving. The children are Forrest Everette Scott, Lucile Irene, Marion Elizabeth, Orville Lorame, Jr., and Albert LeRoy
The funeral was held from the home in Morrison Sunday.
