James Lafayette, a second cousin of Marquis de Lafayette, of revolutionary fame, died in the Jackson county poor house at Maquoketa, Iowa, on the 18th inst., aged 101 years. He was born at Sackett's Harbor, N.Y., Dec., 25, 1786, and fought against the British in the war of 1812.
