KATIE POOL BOWMAN PASSES AWAY

Katie Pool was born December 6, 1860, in the Province of Ontario, Canada, and came with her parents to Iowa, when a girl of six years, since this time this state has been her home. On February 25, 1876, she was united in marriage to Benjamin F. Bowman and they made their home on a farm southeast of Maquoketa until fourteen years ago when they moved to this city. To this union five sons were born, Walter of Maquoketa, Burton of Long Beach, California, Verner of Lincoln, Nebraska, Howard of Strawberry Point, Iowa, and Percy of Chicago, who with the bereaved husband mourn the loss of a devoted mother and wife. Mrs. Bowman was an active member of the Baptist church and clung faithfully to the teachings of her church and her God. She also leaves four brothers, Peter Pool of Devil's Lake, North Dakota, Hiram of Los Angeles, California, Samuel of Rising Sun, Nebraska and Joseph of South Pekin, Illinois, also two sisters, Mrs. Clara Walters of Tipton, Iowa, and Mrs. Florence Lang of Cedar Rapids.

Prayer at the late home will be said at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, after which funeral services will be held from the Baptist church, Revs. Talbot and Worcester officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Hope cemetery.
