URIAH RALSTON PASSES

Uriah Ralston, a former resident of Jackson county, passed away at Mercy Hospital, Dubuque Tuesday evening at 8:40 following a long illness. Mr. Ralston was born in Blue Castle township, Pennsylvania, May 4, 1847 and came to Jackson county when a young man and resided here until about four years ago when he went to Dubuque to live with his daughter, Mrs. C. D. Streeter, 841 White street. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Fred Smith, Canton, Mrs. Percy Vivant, Waukon, Minnesota and Mrs. Streeter, three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Curtis of Dubuque, Mrs. Elizabeth Hicks and Mrs. James Carpenter of Onslow, two brothers, William of Emeline and Elmer of Independence. George Sawyer of this city is a nephew. The funeral was held in Dubuque with interment in Hickory Grove cemetery, Jackson county.
