Bellevue Buries Last Civil War Veteran

The funeral service for Charles F. Kurth, 88, last of Bellevue's Civil War veterans was held Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. Services were conducted by the Rev. E. H. Doerring of Andrew. The flag draped casket was laid away at the Lutheran cemetery in Bellevue with military honors. Mr. Kurth served in Company F, 12th Illinois Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. He is survived by his wife, Louisa A. Bacher Kurth.
