Catherine Christian was born on the Isle of Man, February 12, 1820. She came to America in 1827 and was married to John G. Fuller December 29, 1839 in Jefferson County, New York, and came to Maquoketa May, 1865. Seven children were born to them, five of whom are living-Marius, Edgar, and Mrs. T. H. Berkley of Maquoketa, Frank of Los Angeles, and Mrs. J. F. Moody, of Des Moines. She died May 23, 1900 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. M. Moody, with whom she has resided for the past years. The remains were brought to Maquoketa Friday morning, the funeral occurring from the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. H. Berkley at 2 o'clock. Burial was at Mt. Hope cemetery.
