Jackson Sentinel, November 20, 1902

HUBBELL- At his home in the Fourth Ward of Maquoketa, Monday, November 17, 1902, of paralysis of the heart, Dudley Mosier Hubbell, aged 68 years, 2 months, 17 days.
Though a sufferer from Bright's Disease for sometime, Mr. Hubbell's death came sudden and unexpected, giving his friends a shock.
Mr. Hubbell was born in Essex County, New York, August 31, 1834, the only son of the late banker, Dudley M. Hubbell and wife. He came with his parents to Iowa in 1855 and two years later was married to Nancy J. Hanna, who survives him. Two sons, the present cashier, H. B. Hubbell of the American Savings Bank and O. J. Hubbell of Texas were the fruit of the marriage and also survive their father. For more than forty years he followed farming, but in 1898 he sold his fine, well kept farm, west of Maquoketa and moved to town, where he has since resided. He was a man of industry, sturdy character and very methodical.
The funeral will take place from the house this Thursday morning at 10:00.
