Seneca, Wis.

Alvin N. Scheckel, 82, of Seneca, Wis., died Saturday at St. Francis Hospice in LaCrosse, Wis.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Seneca, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m.Monday at St. Patrick's Hall, Seneca. The Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, Wis., is in charge of the arrangements.

Surving are his wife, the former Martha Lewig; four sons, Edwin and Philip, both of Kenosha, Wis., Lawrence of Tomah, Wis., and Leo Robert of Dodgeville, Wis.; five daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Rosemary) Boland of Gays Mills, Wis., Mrs. Francis (Teresa) Forst of McGregor, Iowa, Mrs. Ardell (Catherine) Suiter of Janesville, Wis., Mrs. John (Rita) Martin of Mineral Point, Wis., and Mrs. Owen (Diane) DuCharme of Seneca; 52 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Vern, Mattie, Leroy and Florian, all of Springbrook, Iowa, and six sisters, Helen Feye of Eastman, Wis., Carrie Heiar of Boscobel, Wis., Claudine Kielhold of Prairie du Chien, Elverda Gonner of Springbrook, Laura Messerich of Preston, Iowa, and Daisy Clausen of LaMotte, Iowa.
