Melba Woodward

BELLEVUE, Iowa -- Services for Melba "Micky" Woodward, of 316 S. Riverview, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue. Mrs. Woodward died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue.

She had taught in Brooklyn, Wis., St. Joseph's School and Bellevue schools. Melba Gilbertson was born Jan. 25, 1921, on a farm near Fennimore, Wis. She married Nelson Knapp in 1942 in Madison, Wis. They owned Bellevue Bakery. He died in 1966.

She married Mervin Woodward in 1970 in Platteville, Wis. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughters, Sandra Roling, Manchester, Candace Kilburg and Robyn Bardell, both of Cedar Rapids, and Janet Callaghan, Green Island; son, Daniel Knapp, Cuba City, Wis.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepsons; two stepdaughters; eight step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
