Bodkin.---Mahulda M., beloved wife of J. H. Bodkin, died at the farm home three and a quarter miles southwest of Maquoketa on Tuesday morning, at 4:45, March 22, 1904, of consumption. She was born near Franklin, Pendleton county, West Virginia, May 11, 1842, and was united in marriage to J. A. Bodkin Jan. 5, 1866, and came west with her husband the year following, settling in Clinton county and three years later moved to Jackson county settling upon the farm where she finally passed away. To this union were born four children--Mrs. Clara N. Grant, living at Massillon, Cedar county, Augustus D., Arthur J. at home, and Mrs. Jennie Adams of Chicago. Mrs. Bodkin has been a long and patient sufferer, and she was a devoted wife and loving mother who will be sadly missed by the grief stricken family and a large circle of neighbors and friends. The funeral services will be held at the Reformed church in this city today (Thursday) at 2 p. m., Rev. D. F. Boomershine officiating. The friends will meet at the house at 1 p. m. Interment will be made in Mt. Hope cemetery.
