Clark--Mary Goswell was born in Licon county, Ohio, Oct. 2, 1834, and died at her home in Brandon township, Jackson county, Iowa, one mile west of Iron Hills, Mar. 16th, 1906, at 10:15 a. m. of heart trouble, aged 71 years, 5 months and 13 days. She was married to Andrew Clark in 1853, and came to Jackson county, where she has ever since resided. To this union ten children were born. She leaves to mourn the loss the husband, three sons and two daughters, besides twenty-one grand-children and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday morning, Mar. 18th at eleven a. m. at the home, conducted by Wm. Trimble, pastor of the Free Methodist church, with interment in Hickory Grove cemetery. We mourn but not as they that have no hope. During the last few days of her sickness she manifested submission to the will of God and said she was ready to die ble.

"Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord."
