Maquoketa Excelsior Record, February 24, 1920

Marie Dell took her Heavenward flight at 6:20 o'clock, Saturday morning, February 21, 1920, across the Great Divide to abide in that place of celestial bliss and happiness from whose bourn no traveler returns.

Miss Marie Dell was baptized into the Reformed Church years ago and remained in that faith until the end which came with considerable joy and assurance to herself in that her religious affiliations established that faith firmly within her conscience that there were mansions beyond for eternal abode.

She is survived by her parents, Freeman and Mary Dell, a sister, Mrs. Estella Grady of Everett Wash., a brother Harry at Deer Lodge, Montana, a sister, Mrs. Henry Bodkin, and a brother, Phineas of Maquoketa and other relatives who deeply mourn her loss, besides a host of friends.

The funeral was held at her home on South Main Street Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. D. F. Boomershine, her pastor, officiating. Interment was made in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
