DIED

TAYLOR-Mr. Jared Taylor, brother of Ellison Taylor, died at his residence near Delmar on Saturday night, February 2nd. He was born in Bolton, Warren County, New York, on January 6, 1840, and moved with his parents to the vicinity of Maquoketa, and by his industry and willingness to help his neighbors commended himself to them, and as a husband and father, he will be tenderly remembered by those who enjoyed his affection and care. He leaves a widow, the former Helen White, and two children, and two other children by his widow's former husband. His funeral took place Monday afternoon, Rev. Langridge speaking on Luke 121:40 "Be ye also ready." The large procession that followed his remains, which were deposited beside his brother, Ellison in Mt. Hope Cemetery, through the inclement weather, showed the esteem in which he was held, and expressed their sympathy for the much bereaved relatives.
