Prominent Young Man Killed

Several relatives and friends from this vicinity were at Ryan last Saturday to attend the funeral of Morris Doyle who was killed in an automobile accident near that city last Wednesday. The deceased was one of the sons of Mr. and Mrs. John Doyle, former residents of Wayne township, but for many years engaged in farming near Ryan. Morris was Cashier of one of the banks at Ryan and was a highly esteemed and exemplary young man. His untimely death was caused by a large Willys-Knight car turning over in the road near Ryan. A young man named Wendling who resides at Ryan and deals in automobiles, had invited Doyle and Dr. William D. Kehoe to take a ride as a demonstration of the new car. While going at high speed the driver lost control and the car turned over twice. Young Doyle was fatally injured and died in a few minutes after being carried into the home of Edward Riley nearby. Dr. Kehoe who is a son of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Kehoe of Monticello, was quite seriously injured, but will recover. The driver remained in his seat and was not seriously hurt. The funeral of Morris Doyle was held at the Catholic church at Ryan on Saturday. Father M. S. Murphy officiated. The funeral was attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends. Interment was made in the Calvary cemetery, Ryan.
