Maquoketa Record, March 18, 1903

Mary Ellen, second daughter of Christopher and Celicia Dorothea Dunn, was born near Williamstown, Kentucky. May 4, 1865, and died after a surgical operation March 12, 1903, aged 46 years, 10 months and 8 days.

She was happily united in marriage with Luke H. Finton, Oct. 9, 1892, who with her son Harry Crocker and a host of other relatives and friends, mourn their loss. Her husband, mother Mrs. C. Dunn, only sister, Mrs. C. H. Gillon, and two brothers were present at the last sad rites. The father and mother, of Mrs. Luke Finton, the O. E. S. of which she was a member and a large number of friends were present.

In her girlhood Mrs. Finton became a member of the Christian church at Quincy, Illinois, in which she was an earnest worker. Funeral services were held at the home on Sunday last at 1:30 p.m. by Rev. George C. Chandler, followed by interment in the Union cemetery, according to the beautiful service of the O. E. S.
