Died March 14, After Long IllnessJeremiah Shanahan, a prominent and respected farmer of Garry Owen, died at his home in Jackson county at 4:00 o'clock a. m., Friday, March 14th, after an extended illness, to the great sorrow of his family, his aged father and his many friends. Mr. Shanahan is a son of James Shanahan, who survives him, and was born July 4,1880, on the old homestead in Jackson county. His youth and early manhood was spent upon the farm with his parents. On June 6, 1911, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Donovan at St. Patrick's church, North Garry Owen. She survives him with two sons, Cornelius and Francis. Besides his father, he is also survived by three brothers, James, of Clinton, Iowa; and John and William, of Bernard, Iowa; and three sisters, Mrs. Albert Jaeger, of Great Falls, Mont.; Miss Mame Shanahan, of Oakland, Calif.; and Mrs. Jettie Duffy, of Bernard, Iowa. Besides being a consistent member of the Catholic church Mr. Shanahan was a member of the Holy Name society.
The funeral was held at 9 o'clock a. m. Monday morning at St. Aloysius church, South Garry Owen, Rev. J. P. Connell officiating.
The pallbearers were William Klnsella, Michael Lynch, Lylie Small, David Slattery, Harry Rollnger, Louis Moriarity, Harold Noonan and Ed. Grace.
