Maquoketa Record, Maquoketa, Iowa, Wednesday, March 16, 1904
Wencil Seda was born in Bohemia, September 27, 1819. He was married to Anna Freyabend in 1848, and to this union three children were corn [sic], two dying in infancy; one son from first marriage is still living. His wife died in Detroit from the dread disease, cholera. He came to Iowa and in 1855 was again married to Mary Pazoreck. This union was blessed with nine children, six sons and three daughters.

The deceased was a prosperous farmer, living in Cinton [sic] county until three years ago when he came to Maquoketa, purchased a home in First ward and planned to spend the remainder of his days in rest and ease. During the past year his health has been failing and on Tuesday evening, at 7 o'clock, March 8, 1904, he passed from this life to life eternal. He leaves a faithful wife and children to mourn the loss of a kind loving husband and father. The children are: George Seda of Davenport, Anton of Sibley, Frank of Dunlay, Joe of Delmar, Edd, Charles, Mrs. Anna Smola, Mrs. Fannie Blanchard, and Tony Hudson of Maquoketa, and Louise of Muscatine.
