MARY RITCHEY was born in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, April 29, 1827 and died March 16, 1905 at her home in the First Ward in Maquoketa, Iowa. She was married to Z. N. Miller on March 15, 1849, and came to Iowa about 1853, residing in Jackson County ever since. To this union were born seven children, six girls and one boy. Three of the girls and the boy passed over. The three remaining girls were present at the funeral and mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother. She was a consistent memberr of the Methodist Episcopal church for many years. Her husband passed to the promised land August 27, 1897. Her funeral was conducted by Rev. Black and occurred at the house on Saturday March 18, with interment in the Bridgeport Cemetery.
