MRS. S.F. KEELEY
Mrs. S. F. Keely, 83, of 517 14th Ave S., died Sunday evening in Jane Lamb Hospital where she had been a patient since December. The body is at the Snell-Smith Funeral home where friends may call beginning at 2:30 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Russell Wilson, associate pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Maquoketa.
Mary Kelchner was born July 22, 1877 in Maquoketa, the daughter of George and Hannah Penrose Kelchner. She was married to Seneca F. Keeley and the couple moved to Clinton in 903. During World War II, she was an active Red Cross worker. She was a member of the auxillary of the Loyal Order of Moose and for many years served as secretary of the Supreme Force of the Woodmen's Circle. She was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son, Francis G. Kelley of Clinton; six daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Alice) Mummert, Mrs. David (Emma) Broadrick, Mrs.Charles (Arla) Sweeney, Mrs. Frank (Sybil) Limacher, Mrs. Orville (Laura) Young, all of Clinton and Mrs. Otto D. (Zella Mae) Thomsen of Baldwin, N.D. 16 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Ross Kelchner of Maquoketa and one sister, Mrs. Louis Nigg of Keystone. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1927, one daughter, Viola, and several brothers and sisters.
