MRS. EMMA KRUSE

Mrs. Emma Kruse, 84, died Sunday morning in Jane Lamb hospital, after an illness of three weeks.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. John's Lutheran church, Preston. Rev. G. D. A. Engelhardt will officiate, with burial in the Miles cemetery.

Friends may call today at the Miller funeral home, Preston. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Herman Grosskruger, Delbert Hoffmann, Kenneth, Thomas, Jerry, and Rickey Kruse. A family prayer will be held at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in the church parlors.

Mrs. Kruse was born July 26, 1885 in Andover, the daughter of Pete and Margaret Weber Harms. She was married to Johannes Kruse on March 23, 1904. The couple farmed in the DeWitt and Bryant areas until retiring to Preston in 1948. Her husband died Jan. 18, 1953. She was a member of St. John's church.

Survivors include five sons, Henry of Miles, John and Marvin of Bryant, Emil of Preston, and Virtus of Clinton; two daughters, Mrs. John (Agnes) Grosskruger of Preston and Mrs. Ben (Anna) Hoffmann of Lost Nation; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, one brother, Henry Harms of Andover.

She was preceded in death, besides her husband, by one daughter, one sister, two brothers, and two grandchildren.
