Orville T. Steines
(February 17, 1921 - July 19, 2011)Orville T. Steines Sr. 90, of Bellevue, passed away Tuesday July 19, 2011 at Mill Valley Care Center Bellevue.
Private family services will be held at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bellevue. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Orville was born on February 17, 1921 in Springbrook, son of Peter and Catherine (Schmidt) Steines. He married Irene Putman and later Mary Purvis, she passed away July 21, 2009
Orville was a very hardworking man who lived a simple life. He was involved in many businesses. He was employed with the Savanna Army Depot as a Foreman and later a commercial fisherman. He also owned and operated Steines Tavern (presently the Bronco Inn), Clark & Steines Welding and Clark & Steines Logging. Orville was a true logger at heart. Even at 90 years old, he was still actively involved with the company. His logging legacy continues on through the second and third generation.
He will be remembered by all for his endless hours of hard work and constant companionship as the best dad and grandpa.
Those left to honor his memory include his four children, Jan (Karl) Clark, Dianna Guenther, and twins, Jeanie (Keith) Griebel, and Orville Jr. (Brooke Herring) Steines all of Bellevue. Also surviving are his 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Glenn Steines, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son in-law, Robert Guenther; grandson, Michael Guenther; three brothers, Norman, Walter and Eugene; and a sister, Bonnie.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice of Jackson County, Mill Valley Care Center and brother in-law Sonny Russell for all of the kind support they have given.
