Daniel Wayne Moeller, 91, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Clover Ridge Place in Maquoketa, Iowa.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, September 28, 2010, from the Salem Lutheran Church in Andrew, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Monday, September 27, 2010, from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be at the Andrew, Iowa Cemetery.

Daniel Wayne Moeller was born on April 23, 1919 on the Moeller Family Farm in Jackson County, Iowa, to Henry J. and Ethel (Keeney) Moeller. He was a 1937 graduate of Andrew High School and a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps receiving an honorable discharge. He married Arlene Margaret Wiegert on September 18, 1949 in LaMotte, Iowa.

Wayne was a lifelong farmer in Jackson County. He loved the land and was an excellent steward. He also enjoyed playing the accordion and reading.

Wayne was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Andrew and the Andrew AMVETS Post #62. He had also served on the Andrew School Board and been a member of the Jackson County Farm Bureau.

Daniel Wayne is survived by his wife, Arlene Moeller of Maquoketa, IA; children, Wanda (Gary) Trafford of DeWitt, IA and Beverly (Harry) Fuller of Davenport, IA; a sister, Marian Moeller of Maquoketa, IA; 5 grandchildren, Steve, Becky, Michele, Hope and Jesse; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lyla Von Rhein and a brother, Fay Moeller.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Salem Lutheran Church in Andrew, Iowa.
