Arnold Kueter
(December 3, 1920 - October 19, 2010)

Arnold Kueter, 89, of Bellevue, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 after a short illness.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 25, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue with the Rev. Phillip Kruse officiating and Rev. Bernie Grady concelebrating . Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bellevue. Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 24 at Hachmann Funeral Home, Bellevue and beginning at 9:00 on Monday morning at the funeral home. The Knights of Columbus rosary will be recited in St. Joseph's Church at 10:00 am prior to the 10:30 funeral Mass.

Arnold was born on December 3, 1920, in Bellevue, son of Joe and Anna (Soppe) Kueter. He graduated from St. Joseph's School in Bellevue.

He married Bernice Till on August 21, 1941 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue; she preceded him in death on December 17, 2005. They were married 64 years. Arnold was a farmer and businessman in Bellevue, retiring in the late 1970s. He was a devoted husband and caregiver for his wife for many years during her illness.

During his business years he was an accomplished and successful leader earning several awards and recognitions from Nutrena and Pillsbury Feeds, Pioneer Seed Corn, Red Jacket Pumps, and Green Colonial Furnace Company. Following several years of farming accompanied with a few years as a factory worker with Clinton Engine and John Deere, he purchased Bellevue Gas and Stove from his Father-in-law Tony F. Till and renamed the business Front Street Feeds and Supplies.

Arnold was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish and the Knights of Columbus.

Arnold's hobbies included fishing, gardening and woodworking.

Arnold is survived by his three children: Roger (Barbara) Kueter of Cedar Falls, Diana (Tony) Muenster and Gail (Greg) Michels of Bellevue. Nine Grandchildren, Kelly (Bill) Flege, Dan (Diana) Kueter, Sarah (Pat) Tierney, Mike (Julie) Muenster, Kerry (James) Doepke, Shelia (Gary) Moldenhauer, Kim (Eric) Schroeder, April (Rob) Lessnau, and Aaron Michels: 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Loretta Till Reistroffer and Verna (Victor) Kueter.

Arnold was preceded in death by four brothers (Ben, Leo, Victor, Harold) and two sisters (Mildred Frank and Fran Eggers).
