WAYNE F. KIEFFER 1947-2010

BELLEVUE, Iowa -- Wayne F. Kieffer, 62, of Bellevue, died Monday, March 29, 2010, as a result of a farming accident.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 3, at St. John Lutheran Church, Bellevue. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 2, at The Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue. Friends also may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

He was born on May 26, 1947, in Bellevue, son of Donald and Rosina (Kloft) Kieffer. He married Marian Meier in 1981 and had two children, Matthew and Alexandra.

He worked for WHKS & Co. in East Dubuque, Ill., as an engineering technician and he also farmed south of Bellevue.

Wayne was a quiet, kind and intelligent man. He enjoyed reading and working on the farm. He was always ready to stop and help others. His infectious smile and gentle sense of humor will long be remembered. Wayne will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Surviving are his two children, Matthew (Stephanie) Kieffer, of Eldridge, and Alexandra Kieffer, of New Haven, Conn.; nine siblings, Jerry (Kris) Kieffer and Jean (Steve) Owens, both of Dubuque, Mary Cain, of Indian Harbour Beach, Fla., Pat Kieffer, Deb Genz and Connie Kieffer, all of Iowa City, Rita Kieffer, of Charlottesville, Va., Barb (Jack) Morio, of Marion, and Betty (David) Martyn, of Gardiner, Mont.; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
