BELLEVUE, Iowa - Michael M. Kloft, 95, of rural Bellevue, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at Heritage Manor, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with burial in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, both in Springbrook. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Haylock-O'Hara & Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, where there will be a vigil service at 4 p.m. Friends may also call after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Mr. Kloft farmed in the Springbrook area for many years, retiring in 1969.

He was born on Oct. 12, 1903, in rural Bellevue, son of Nicholas and Mary Wehr-Kloft. He married Bertha Homan on Oct. 28, 1930, in Springbrook; she died Oct. 31, 1959.

He was a longtime member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Springbrook. He was an avid card player and loved to play the accordion and organ.

Surviving are a daughter, Ella Pitz, of La Motte; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Ivan Kloft, in 1978; three sisters; and three brothers.

A Michael M. Kloft Memorial Fund has been established.
