Arnold G. Deppe, 93, of Ennoble Manor Care Center, formerly of 1085 Clara Court, died at 10:37 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at the care center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Nativity Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where there will be a rosary at 3:30 p.m.

Mr. Deppe retired from John Deere Dubuque Works on Feb. 28, 1974, after 27 years of service.

He was born on Oct. 18, 1908, in Bellevue, Iowa, son of John and Mary (Hoffmann) Deppe. He married Catherine Gibbs on Sept. 29, 1931, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue; she died on May 27, 1974.

He graduated from St. Joseph's High School, Bellevue. He was a member of Nativity Parish, Nativity Rosary Society and John Deere Retirees, all in Dubuque.

He was a good husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a gifted woodworker and one of his special joys was to make furniture and gifts for his family and friends. One of the last items he made was a wooden doll cradle for his great-granddaughters.

Surviving are a daughter, Leota (Robert) Nemmers, of Dubuque; a granddaughter, Cathy (David) Felderman, of Dubuque; two great-granddaughters, Brooke and Abby Felderman; and a special friend, Barbara Langenbach, of Dubuque.

He also was preceded in death by an infant son, Arnold Joseph; his parents; and brothers and a sister.

An Arnold G. Deppe Memorial Fund has been established by his family.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Dubuque, Ennoble Manor Care Center, Dr. Leeson and the staff of Dubuque Internal Medicine, for the care and compassion shown not only to Arnie, but also to his family during his illness.
