OLDEST CITIZEN DEAD AT 93

December 5, 1958Bellevue, Nov. 24 –Bellevue’s oldest citizen, Mrs. Gustave Setzepfandt, died Nov. 15 in a Maquoketa nursing home. Last rites were held Nov. 17 in St. John’s Lutheran church here. The Rev. A. E. Sommer officiated and burial was made in the church cemetery.
Born in Wildeshansen, Germany, Jan. 16 1865, Maria Helena Reinekehr came to the United Stated in 1888 to marry Gustave Setzepfandt to whom she was engaged to before he came to this country from Germany. The couple was married in July of 1889 in the German Ahlers residence.
Her husband died in 1913. Only survivor is a son. A. O. H. Setzepfandt of Tulsa, Okla. Eight grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren also survive.
