Mrs. Myrtle Behrends

Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Behrends, 72, of Maquoketa who was formerly of Monticello, were held Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 1:30 p.m. at Carson's Funeral Home in Maquoketa. Mrs. Behrends died Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. The Rev. Harold Kumpf of Maquoketa's First Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello. Carson's Funeral Home of Maquoketa was in charge of arrangements.

Myrtle Tubbs was born March 31, 1905 in Maquoketa to Jess and Gertrude Clary Tubbs. On Feb. 27, 1924 she married Ben Behrends in Monticello.

Surviving is one sister: Mrs. Lewis (Velda) Rockwell of Maquoketa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three brothers.
