D. M. Flynn Called By Death Last FridayDennis M. Flynn, son of James J. and Ethalinda Flynn, was born Sept. 27, 1870 and passed away at his home April 11th, 1930 at 11:30 a. m. at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 15 days. Mr. Flynn's entire life has been spent in this community he has lived for the past twenty years in his present home. He was united in marriage to Estella Eastmann, Dec. 1st, 1898. To this union was born one son, Milford H. who with his mother is left to mourn the loss of a faithful husband and a loving father.
About three years ago, his health began to fail, and from that time until his death, he bore sufferings cheerfully and made a gallant fight against his afflictions.
Besides his wife and son, there are left to mourn one granddaughter, Charlotte, Leora and a grandson, James William, besides five sisters, Mrs Ida Bradley, Maquoketa; Mrs. Mary Cotton and Mrs. Agnes Brown, San Antonio, Texas; Mrs. Carrie Lane of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Mrs. Edith Overbeck of Cincinnati, Ohio and one brother, Oscar D., of this city.
Dennis Flynn's life is a record of uprightness and sincerity in his dealings with his fellowmen and of unflinching courage in following any course that he believed to be right. Those who were his friends loved him, and those who were not, respected him. His faults were the faults of a man, and only endeared him the more to those who knew him. The world is the better for men like him.
Funeral services were held at the residence Sunday, April 13, the Rev. E. G. Hunt, preaching the sermon. The large attendance indicated the high esteem in which the deceased was held. The body was laid to rest in the Esgate cemetery, the casket bearers were:--Oliver Parmer, Arthur Parmer, George Mitchell, Bert Sagers, Lee Teters and John Garretson.
