Wilmont Butterworth dies
Excelsior-Record
November 10, 1912

Mr. and Mrs. Fran Lucky of Cascade attended the funeral of Wilmont Butterworth Sabbath day.

Wilmont Butterworth, mention of whose critical illness was made last week, died in his home north of Andrew at 6 p.m. on October 3rd. He was born Nov. 11, 1876, on the old Butterworth homestead north of Andrew and has lived here continuously. In May, 1907 he was united in marriage to Grace B. Fowler, who survives him. Although a sufferer for more than a year, he bore up with the ills of life without a murmur. He was highly respected by everyone as was the evidenced the day he was buried by the largest funeral cortege that has been seen here for many years. Wilmont was of an unusually cheery disposition and easily made light of the ordinary troubles that come to us, while his happy temperament lent sunshine to the lives around him. He was particularly devoted to his wife, whose health has been poor for years. Evidently an ideal companionship has been sadly interrupted; let us hope to be resumed in God’s good time, where redeemed souls will find the blessed and unending fellowship of heaven. Besides his wife, he leaves and aged father, one brother and two sisters to mourn his early departure. Funeral services were held from the home Sabbath day at 2 o’clock p.m., conducted by Rev. Bailey of Martelle, with internment in Andrew cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire community.
