Obituary, Quad-City Times, Tuesday, June 19, 2001

Clyde N. Duhme age 72 of LaMotte Iowa died Sunday morning June 17 2001 at his home in rural LaMotte Iowa following a short illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday June 20 2001 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa with Rev. Gerald Gjerde of the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa Iowa officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday June 19 2001 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Andrew Iowa Cemetery.

Clyde N. Duhme was born on February 21 1929 in LaMotte Iowa to Henry D. Duhme and Myrtle M. Ruff Duhme. He was a 1947 graduate of Maquoketa Community High School. He married Lois Jean Kyarsgaard in April of 1951. He later married Phyllis Beck Johnson on May 1 1965 in Andrew Iowa. Mr. Duhme farmed all of his life in the LaMotte area. He had also worked various jobs and for the past eight years til present was working at the Iron Hill Quarry. He enjoyed farm sales races ice fishing bowling country western dancing dining out and collecting all kinds of items. His family was very important to him. He was known as very giving person and liked to be around people.

He is survived by: His Wife- Phyllis of LaMotte IA; 3 Sons- Jerry(Kelli) Duhme of Akron OH Larry(Linda) Duhme of Central City IA & Rich(Carol) Duhme of Maquoketa IA; 3 Daughters- Shirley(Mrs. Dale) Smith of Des Moines IA Arlett(Mrs. Jim) Arterberry of Maquoketa IA & Cheryl(Mrs. Brian) Nordyke of Runnels IA; 2 Brothers- Charlie(Donna) Duhme of Andrew IA & Oscar Duhme of Maquoketa IA; 1 Sister- Dorothy(Mrs. Ralph) Bartels of Delmar IA; 14 Grandchildren & 2 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents 1 son 2 sisters & 1 grandson.
