VERLE DWAINE MASON,

78, died June 13 at his Corona home. Born in Otter Creek, Iowa, Mr. Mason
lived in Corona eight months. Previously he lived in Mira Loma 15 years and
Sun City nine years. He worked with Union Oil Co., in Los Angeles for 27
years and raised thoroughbred racehorses before he retired in 1980.

Mr. Mason served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He is survived by is wife of 56 years, Shirley; three daughters, Jeanne and
Linda McRae, both of Corona, and JoAnn Davenport of Riverside; eight
grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Audrey Winn, Dorothy
Woods and Cleta Spencer, all of Iowa, Lucille Goodale of Moreno Valley and
Gladys Gray of Murrieta Hot Springs; and a brother, Daniel of Iowa.

Graveside services were Tuesday at Riverside National Cemetery. Thomas
Miller Mortuary in Corona handled arrangements.
