An old and well known resident of Garryowen, Mrs. Bridget McCarthy died Tuesday September 19th. Her maiden name was Bridget Turner and she was born in Ireland in 1820, was there fore 85 years old. She came to New York with her parents when quite young, and was married in 1854 to John MCarthy and came to Garryowen in 1864. Her husband died in 1862. Four children to them, Rose, who died in infancy, James, whose death occurred in January, 1904, and the survivors are Charles McCarthy of Montana, and a sister, Mrs Julia Taliman, of Fort Dodge. The funeral was held today, Sept. 21, at St. Patrick's Church, Garryowen.
