Little Gladys Koch was born Jan. 1906, and died Dec. 20th, 1906. The little child had not been in good health since September and for the past few weeks suffered a great deal with bronchitis and the day before she died spinal meningitis set in and in spite of all that loving hands could do, its little life was puffed out at noon on December 20th.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church, Rev. Wilcox delivering the sermon, and interment was made in the Miles cemetery. Miss Lou Harrington, Mrs. Wilcox, Frank Wells and Seymor Watts, with Miss Beryl Denick at the organ, sang the following selections: “Beckoning Hands,” Safe in the Arms of Jesus’ and “Thy Will be Done.” The pall bearers were Masters Rex Allen, Leo Fredericksen, Harold Wilcox and Hasson Millhaem. The casket was a beautiful white one and the floral contributions from relatives and friends literally covered it.

As published in a Jackson Co., Iowa, newspaper December 1906.
