CONERY - May 8, 1878, of dropsy, Mrs. Margaret S. wife of J.W. Conery. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Jan. 26, 1842. Her maiden name was Steward. April 13, 1860, she was married to Mr. Conery in Clinton Co., and the next year they came to Maquoketa where they have since resided. Her sickness was long and painful. Toward the last, weary of life, she welcomed the grim messenger who came to release her from her sufferings. - 16 May 1878, Jackson Sentinel, pg. 1
