Mrs. John Petersen.
Anna Elizabeth Busch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Busch was born in Monmouth, Iowa, June 25, 1888. She was dedicated to the Lord in holy baptism in infancy and confirmed a member of the Lutheran church in young womanhood. She grew up to a sweet and beautiful young woman and was united in marriage to John H. Petersen, Feb. 17, 1910, and this union was blessed with three children: Alfred aged 9, Henrietta aged 6 and Malcomb aged 3.
The first six years of her married life she lived near Buckhorn, where she enjoyed her home as an ambitious hard working mother and proud of her home and family and happiest when serving most and busiest. Four years ago she moved with her family to their beautiful home on West Platt St., where she lived until taken to the hospital to regain her broken and failing physical and nervous body. Never a strong healthy and rugged constitution, yet at the hospital she rallied wonderfully physically and her nervous condition showed signs of marked improvement when Feb. 12th the insidious influenza took hold of her and all that human skill and trained loving service could do was of no avail and she fell peacefully asleep in Jesus, Friday, Feb. 20, 1920, aged 31 years, 7 months and 25 days. Her work is done and she has entered into her eternal rest.
She was of a devoted religious nature, and exemplary church member and ever anxious of her Christian life service that it may be pleasing to her heavenly Father. Surely she hath done what she could and her good works will follow her.
Besides the sorrowing and bereft husband and children, the aged parents and seven brothers, viz.: Wm. H. Busch of Marion, Ia., Albert Busch of Davenport, Theodore and Gerhardt Busch of Oklahoma, Charles Busch of Baldwin, Louis Busch of Oelwein and John Busch of Nashville, and three sisters Mrs. Minnie Westphal of Wyoming, Lena and Louis at home and other relatives survive to mourn her departure.
The body was accompanied home by the husband on Friday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. and burial at Buckhorn cemetery. D. F. Boomershine in the absence of her pastor officiating. The floral tribute was beautiful, Mesdames Frank Wilson and James Campbell sang consolingly.
