Obituary

Miss Catherine Small was born in County Tyronne, Ireland, August 16, 1846, and came to America in 1872, settling in Jackson county which had since been her home. She passed away near Otter Creek, February 24, 1920, at 3:00 a.m. Surviving are one brother Dan of Otter Creek four brothers and two sisters preceding her in death. The funeral was held at Otter Creek, Thursday, Rev. Father Laughane officiating. Interment was made in the Otter Creek cemetery. The pall bearers were James Quinn, John F. Small. Joe Elsner, Joe Veach, John Veach and Charles Veach.

Those attending the funeral from a distance were John Veach of Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. J. Elsner of Hale, Iowa, Miss Delia Quinn of Chicago, Miss Anna Quinn of Fonda, Jos. Veach and sister Bess of Farley, Mrs. J. McGiffiney and daughter Catherine of Maquoketa.
