BUCHNER. – Lucy Hestella Walp, was born November 1, 1870, near Andrew, Iowa. When but a child, her parents moved to Maquoketa, and she has since resided in and near this city with the exception of over a year spent in South Dakota, whence she returned the first of March, on account of failing health. She was married to Owen Eugene Buchner, June 27, 1890. To this union were born two sons and two daughters – Reefe, Helen, Dillon, and Zella of 9, 6, 4, and 2 years respectively. Her father, Andrew Walp recently went to New York, to make that his home. She also leaves two brothers, one in Canada and one here, and a sister, Mrs. Steve Davis of this city to mourn her loss. She died May 1st, 1907, of tuberculosis.

Funeral services were held at the house west of Hurstville on Friday, May 3rd, at 2 p.m. and interment made in Mt. Hope in Maquoketa. Rev. D. F. Boomershine officiating.
