DIED-

GAFFNEY- At her residence northwest of this city, on Friday, June 8, 1888, Mrs. Alice Gaffney, aged 68 years. Burial in St. Peter's Cemetery, Sabula. Deceased was one of the pioneers of this locality, and will be remembered by the old settlers especially. She was born in County Cavan, Ireland, about 1820 and came to this country about 1836. The next six years were spent in New York and the southern states. In 1841 she was united in marriage with Michael Gaffney. He died January 28, 1878. She came to this place in 1881 and has since made it her home.
