Thomas Specht

Thomas L. “Tom” Specht, 48, of Maquoketa, died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 28, 1997 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, in Davenport.

Private family graveside services and burial will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Maquoketa, with the Rev. Clair Odell of the First United Methodist Church of Maquoketa officiating. The body has been cremated.

Friends may call anytime at the family residence at 1016 E. Angus Court in Maquoketa.

Mr. Specht was born Dec. 16, 1948 in Anamosa to Lester and Rosemary Kleineck Specht. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and would watch them at all hours of the day. He also enjoyed watching television.

Survivors include his mother of Maquoketa; one sister, Jodi Specht of Eldridge; two brothers, Jim of Maquoketa and Dick of Dubuque, and his maternal grandmother, Bernice Kleineck of Maquoketa.

He was preceded in death by his father on Sept. 23, 1994, his maternal grandfather and his paternal grandparents.

Carson & Son Funeral Home of Maquoketa handled arrangements.
