H. D. “Bud” Skrivseth, 74, of Maquoketa, died Friday, April 9, 1993 at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque.
Funeral services were Monday, April 12 at 10 a.m. at W. G. Carson & Son Funeral Home in Maquoketa with the Rev. Carroll Robinson of Preston Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.
Visitation was Sunday, April 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with a Knights of Pythias service at 7 p.m.
Mr. Skrivseth was born Dec. 5, 1918 in Minot, N. D. to Henning and Nellie Best Skrivseth. He married Marian Sagers on Nov. 17, 1940 in Maquoketa.
He had owned and operated Skrivseth Linoleum and then Snow White Paint Store for over 20 years. He was a veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Road Runners Camping Organization, of Joinerville Boat Club, and member of Maquoketa American legion Post #75 and the Knights of Pythias.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Terry of Maquoketa and Richard of Preston; four daughters, Sharon (Mrs. Bill) Bullock of LaMotte, Kathie (Mrs. Chuck) Whitsell of Reedsburg, Wis., Carol (Mrs. Rich) Kendall of Maquoketa and Christy (Mrs. Dean) Thomas of Grayslake, Ill.; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one sister, Margaret Skrivseth of Springfield, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
A memorial fund has been established.
