December 28, 1899.
Matt Hodson, one of the early pioneers of this locality, died at his home south of this city, on Saturday, after a lingering illness with dropsy. Deceased had been a great sufferer for the past six months and for nearly four months has been confined to the house, death relieving his suffering at four o’clock on Saturday morning. Matt Hodson was one of Sabula’s early settlers and was in business here several years.
