Nancy Caroline Edwards-

Nancy Caroline Edwards was born at Bethel, Ohio, September 21, 1818, and died at her home in Maquoketa on South Niagara Street, Feb. 11, 1902, aged 83 years, 4 months and 20 days. She was married to P. L. Carter in Ohio in 1838. They moved to this county in 1860 and two years ago removed to this city, where the deceased has since resided and where her husband died in 1900. This union was blessed with nine children, two of whom, James and John, survive to mourn their loss. Services were held at home on Thursday at 1 p.m., and burial at the Union Church Cemetery, Clinton County, Iowa, Rev. Boomershine officiating.
