Chas. R. Sanger Services Held Here Wednesday

Charles R. Sanger, 86, died Monday in the Jackson Countyy Public Hospital at Maquoketa following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held in the Haylock-O’Hara funeral home Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Laurence Nelson, pastor of the Bellevue Presbyterian church, officiated and interment was made in Mt. Hope cemetery.

He was born Sept. 17, 1868, in Jackson County, a son of Louis and Mary Sanger. A retired farmer, he was a 25 year member of the International Order of Odd Fellows lodge. His wife, who he married September 24, 1895, in Maquoketa, was the former Harriet Brewster. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Earl T. of Los Angeles, Calif., one sister, Mrs. Mary T. Hartman of Appleton, Minn, and two grandchildren. Two sons, a daughter, a sister and four brothers preceded him in death, in addition to his wife.
