Emil G. Marcucci

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa, for Emil G. Marcucci, 80, of Maquoketa, who died Monday in Crestridge Nursing Home. The Rev. Bill McLaughlin will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Carson Funeral Home, where a 7:30 p.m. rosary will be recited. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Arnold Koranda, Mark Brooks, Buddy Olson, Ron Evans, Craig Johnson and Dick Ward. Mr. Marcucci was born Aug. 23, 1908, in Clinton, to Gilbert and Marianna Pieruccini Marcucci. He married Helen Haun, June 7, 1934, in Polo, Ill. She died Oct. 24, 1974. He had owned and operated Marcucci Tavern, Maquoketa, until his retirement. He was a former Maquoketa city councilman, and a former member of the Maquoketa Volunteer Fire Department and Maquoketa Auxiliary Police. Mr. Marcucci was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Optimists Club. Survivors include two sons, Gib of Monmouth, Iowa, and Jim of Middletown, Ky.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and three sisters.
