Morehead.---Alexander Morehead was born in Megs county, West Virginia, July 15, 1832, and died Dec. 21, 1910, aged 78 years, 5 mos. and 6 days. He moved with his parents to Jackson county, Iowa, in 1846, locating on the farm where he has since resided until death came to claim him. October 14, 1860, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Liston. To this union were born nine children, six of whom have preceded him to the great beyond. There remains to mourn their loss, a loving wife, one daughter Mrs. Otis Sherman, two sons Albert and D. H. at home. Fifteen years ago he was converted to Christ and united with the Second Advent Christian church and lived a humble christian life until his death.

The funeral was held at Nashville church after which he was laid to rest in the Pence cemetery to wait the consummation of his hope. Elder John W. Said officiated.
