Body of Pioneer Resident Brought Here For Burial

Accompanied by a sister, Mrs. Henry Baum and husband and son of Morris, Ill., and a brother, Arthur L. Humphrey of Pittsburg, Pa., the body of William Humphrey, aged 70, was brought from the late home of the deceased in Morris, Ill., Wednesday the funeral service being held from the Buchner chapel with the Rev. H. H. Dill officiating.

Mr. Humphrey was, with his parents, brothers and sisters, a resident of this community many years ago, the family residing east of this city and the children attending school at the old stone school house three miles east, which still stands as it did in pioneer days. Interment was made in Mt. Hope cemetery.

Several members of the Humphrey family were here a few weeks ago on a brief visit, including the brother who was here Wednesday on his sad mission.
