Melissa May Thurston was born May 13, 1871, at Preston, Iowa, and died at her home in Fairfield Twp., March 15, 1900, being therefore 28 years, 10 months and 2 days old. She was married to Wm. Delarm Jan. 18, 1898. To them were born two children – a daughter and a son – who with the sorrowing husband are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving wife and mother. She also leaves a father, mother, one sister and eight brothers to mourn her sad demise. The sympathy of a large circle of friends go with them in their sad hour of bereavement. The funeral services were conducted from the M. E. church Friday, March 16, Rev. J. G. Eberhart officiating. The father, husband and sister were unable to be present.
