After a several days’ search, the remains of Charles Stein, who was drowned in the Wapsie river Tuesday while employed with the bridge gang erecting the new bridge across the river a mile from Big Rock, were recovered Sunday afternoon. The crew who had been dragging the river for the body of the drowned man, succeeded in locating it about 50 feet from the place where the accident occurred, and towed it to the shore. An inquest was conducted over the remains, the verdict of the jury being that the deceased had come to his death by accidental drowning. The remains were then taken to Delmar, where the funeral was held Monday.
