Lucy Smith, the beloved wife of Leverett Smith, a brother of Dr. C. W. Smith of this city, died at her home, near the Union Center church, Thursday of appendicitis, after an illness of several weeks duration, during which every agency which the brain could devise was employed to save her life. Although she had blessed her husband with six children she was but about 34 years of age – just in the prime of life. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Smith of Preston, were held at the home Friday at 2 p.m.
